We are a small independent family business dedicated to creating products that support craftsmanship in the traditional arts.
We use only the finest natural and organic ingredients including plant oils, natural pigments, waxes, and exquisite resins, essential oils and absolutes.
We are passionate about working with the healing power of nature to support creativity, and are inspired by the symbolism, myth and lore that surrounds many of the materials we work with.
We work from our Archeus apothecary and studio in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand.
Our founder launched her award-winning natural products business Archeus in 2013. Her own arts practice quietly grew alongside her work developing and producing the the Archeus offerings. Her passion for techniques such as traditional watergilding and working with pigments and natural dyes grew. She is inspired by the people working in this field and the long histories of companies involved in this area. Ultimately she saw that this was a community of creatives and craftsmanship that she wanted to whole-heartedly support. She applied her herbal knowledge to creating a balm for gilder's to use to charge the tip before picking up leaf... and Langdale Artisan Supplies was born.

Throughout the centuries, my family has been woven with artists, storytellers and those who have seen the sacred and sublime in life and art. I am embracing this lineage and weaving my own story into theirs.
As a gilder, artist, gardener and herbalist, I created this collection of products to add some extra magic to our creative endeavors and celebrate those curious ancestors, and the creative spark in us all.
