Known since Antiquity, Venetian Red is sought after in the artistic and restoration fields. It's a deep, earthy red pigment and is made from natural red iron oxide (hematite). Our pigment is extracted in the region of Veneto (Verona). It’s one of the oldest pigments used by humans—found in prehistoric cave paintings, Roman frescoes, and medieval manuscripts.
